ABOUT THE DOGPLEX

The City of Alexander City has a dog park facility located inside the Alexander City Sportplex. The original facility was built in 2012. In 2019, the formerly described facility was completely torn down by Alexander City Parks & Recreation staff, and County Commissioner, Steve Robinson, donated funding to help the city rebuild the facility. With this donation, the city installed new iron fencing, several toys, and two benches, all of which have improved the facility from its prior state. However, this facility still needs a good bit of work to reach its full potential.

Leadership Lake Martin Yellow Team's mission is to maximize the potential of this existing facility and promote an environment for safe and secure exercise and socialization for dogs, their owners, and the community. Our goal is to incorporate additional site amenities that will make this area both sustainable and user-friendly. We are seeking donations to help fund shade structures, a dog water fountain, landscaping, and directional signage. We would also love to be able to add additional seating and picnic tables if funding permits. Any and all contributions to help with these improvements are greatly appreciated.
